Carpentry Tools Assignment

Nail: a small metal spike with a broadened flat head, driven typically into wood with a hammer to join things together or to serve as a peg or hook.

Jointer: a plane used for preparing a wooden edge for fixing or joining to another.

Bandsaw: A bandsaw is a power saw with a long, sharp blade consisting of a continuous band of toothed metal stretched between two or more wheels to cut material. They are used principally in woodworking, metalworking, and lumbering, but may cut a variety of materials.

Drill press: Drill press, also called Drilling Machine, device for producing holes in hard substances. The drill is held in a rotating spindle and is fed into the workpiece, which is usually clamped in a vise resting on a table.

Skill saw: A circular saw is a power-saw using a toothed or abrasive disc or blade to cut different materials using a rotary motion spinning around an arbor. A hole saw and ring saw also use a rotary motion but are different from a circular saw. Circular saws may also be loosely used for the blade itself.

Hack saw: hacksaw is a fine-toothed saw, originally and mainly made for cutting metal. The equivalent saw for cutting wood is usually called a bow saw. Most hacksaws are hand saws with a C-shaped walking frame that holds a blade under tension.

Planer: A thickness planer is a woodworking machine to trim boards to a consistent thickness throughout their length and flat on both surfaces.

Screw driver: A screwdriver is a tool, manual or powered, used for driving screws. A typical simple screwdriver has a handle and a shaft, ending in a tip the user puts into the screw head before turning the handle.

Sawzall: A reciprocating saw is a type of machine-powered saw in which the cutting action is achieved through a push-and-pull motion of the blade. The name Sawzall is often used and is an example of a generic trademark.

Tape measure: A tape measure or measuring tape is a flexible ruler used to measure size or distance. It consists of a ribbon of cloth, plastic, fibre glass, or metal strip with linear-measurement markings. It is a common measuring tool.
